pretty sure, yeah! ;) 45
Aw thanks so much! :D I agree best to start those good habits early but that being said its never too late ;)
Awesome! Nice to meet you Tania :)
Well to be honest I kind of combine a bunch of stuff but follow general principles between them all which are low carb, intermittent fasting 16 hrs/day (no breakfast just Bulletproof coffee which is coffee with organic grass-fed butter and MCT oil) which maximizes ketogenesis and then I eat my main carbs at night. With the carb-backloading i fuse it with Carb Nite Solution by generally maintaining lower carb levels during the week since I don’t think I train as heavy and hard as the people Kiefer is gearing CBL to imo.
So basically i eat low carb all week but for me that is 30-40 g throughout the day and then about 30-50 more at dinner averaging 80-100/day tops. Being mainly vegetarian eating a bit of fish its hard for me to eat only 30 carbs a day. But no matter how often I train (usually 4-5 days week) I always eat more of my carbs starting late afternoon . If it’s post-workout I’ll sometimes add sprouted grain Ezekial cereal to my protein shake for an immediate carb boost otherwise I have the rest in my dinner which is often a large salad with jicama, avocado, tomatoes, mixed lettuce, cucumber, peppers, walnuts, raw organic cheese, Gardein (meat protein substitute) and Tempeh and a So Delicious Banana Split ice cream bar for dessert! (100 cal 15 grams carbs) or Gardein beef tips with Rice, Grilled Salmon with rice or quinoa and veggies.
It’s on the weekends that i have more my ‘cheat meals’ so I try to have heavier workouts then so i can feel better about the extra carbs.:) Again there I try to have very little during the day and then after my workout that evening I’ll usually consume approx 150-200 more grams carbs in the form of my favorite foods like pizza , pasta, shrimp fajitas, frozen yogurt sundaes with a multitude of sinful toppings, chocolate cupcakes, muffins, popcorn, red wine :) Not all at once of course. I don’t gorge by any means but I probably go over my normal calorie intake about 800 calories for those 2 days..then back on it Monday morning.
Hope that helps but really because of my own unique needs and my background in nutrition I like to mix things up! I’m very keen to see John Keifer’s next installment of CBL and CNS and the new approaches he has to the program.Apparently he is coming out with a new version with tweaks for different situations like this.. Everyone is unique etc..
Since I never get to eat breakfast and I love breakfast and brunch I’m thinking of having a carb night based on breakfast with Lucky Charms cereal, Pancakes, Healthy Egg Mcmuffins (veggie) and bagels! YUM!
I’ve graduated to a man my own age..but thanks ;)
I’m so happy to inspire! Sounds like you’ve overcome a lot and got great goals! Good for you :)
Thanks very much! it’s good you’re starting young.. ;)
